SOUTHBURY -- State police trooper John "The Meat Train" Artes looked ill.
BY SAM COOPER REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN
Three minutes earlier, he'd been gyrating to Survivor's hit song "Eye of the Tiger" that blasted over the loud speakers at Leo's Restaurant as he stuffed hot dogs in his mouth two at time, followed by a handful of soggy buns he'd dipped in a pitcher of water. Eight dogs later, his face had begun to pale, and his eyes were watering.
"This is the face of Connecticut law enforcement!" joked TIC 96.5 radio disc jockey Damon Scott, as Artes dug into dogs number nine and 10, gasping between mouthfuls.

Groom -A-Thon for Luck2Tuck
We celebrated 13th years in December, so we wanted to do something that would help give back to the Southbury Community. We have known the Gowen family for many years. We may not know Tucker or his siblings all that well, but we certainly have had the joy of working with Kimba, Kenzi, Churchill, Scudder, Sophie and Rugby through the years. Pet Aesthetics donated 100% of our grooming services from the Nov11th Groom A Thon and raised $3075.61 for the Luck2Tuck fund. A great BIG thanks!!! to all who helped and all who donated.
1st place is Cody, a 5 year old Golden Retriever owned by Kim Galiette!

Paddle & Swim 4 a Cure
We had a fantastic morning at the Luck2Tuck Paddle & Swim 4 a Cure at Lake Quassapaug. Many Thanks to all our supporters who donated to help the fight against Pediatric Cancers. We raised $245.00 for the event.
Although I did not swim or paddle, I did "Swab" and register to become a Bone Marrow Donor. It was fast, easy and painless. For more information on becoming a Registered Bone Marrow Donor, please visit: deletebloodcancer.org
